I never hugged a teacher nor was I hugged by one. That wasn't going on to my knowledge back in the '50s and early '60s when I was in school.

Sounds like the kid was being a wize ---, and wanted to send her a message.Not your typical fuzzy warm hug. She was breaking up a fight! Perhaps one he started. In 8th grade, I was in love with my math teacher... but my affections went unrequited...

In the eighth grade, I had a blind teacher (a man) and you wouldn't believe what the kids in his class were doing to him.  You might say he was being screwed right and left.  Eighth graders have no conscience.

I grew up in a small community in Ill. Our teachers were well known to us in and out of school, so many bonds were made, they were our friends and neighbors. HS was a different ball game, no hugging there. POWDERMAN.

There are quite a few teachers I see these days that could fall into that category. Had they been around when I was in grade school, I might have paid much more attention.
