Just returned home from camping/catfishing for three days on the Yazoo River in MS with my little brother and a bunch of his Mississippi redneck buddies. We caught 33 fish on the first day, mostly flatheads and a few channels, the largest flathead weighing in at 47 lbs! We only took picturess on the first day, and only weighed the biggest fish, but the other two days were similar to the first. On the second day, we caught a big loggerhead snapping turtle (about 60 lbs) on one of the lines. I made a big pot of sauce piquant out of her, and we all ate like kings, along with a few local fisherman who were attracted by the smell... There was plenty to go around, we didn't mind sharing, and enjoyed their company. This trip was the most fun I've had in a while. I enjoyed spending time with my brother, I don't get to see him very often anymore, as he now lives 4 hours away. This was the first time I've met the other guys, and really enjoyed their company as well. Great bunch of folks! We are planning another trip for next Spring, and hoping we are all able to make it. Just thought I would share the experience, and a few pictures in hopes that I might inspire someone else to do the same... We need more posts in the fishing forums! Here are the pictures, enjoy!
