Updated today at 6:01 LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) -- Although occupy protesters plan to comply with the city’s ruling they must move out of Founders Square by midnight Friday, they call it a relocation not a retreat.
"Occupy's frown is turned upside down with the formal acceptance of office space at the Carl Braden Memorial Center," occupy activist Carl Zoller said at a Friday afternoon press conference.
They weren't specific about what projects they'll work on in the office space however they were happy that when they clear out completely they'll have somewhere to go.
Jim Mims, the director of codes and regulations says, the City has been as accommodating as possible but it's time for the protesters to move on.
The occupiers have said many times that their movement is not over just because they can't camp in public around the clock. But still, they acknowledge that the 24/7 protest is the signature of their movement and are looking to take their grievances outdoors again.
“Any and all community support in acquiring a small private lot or church parking lot so we can protest visually would be greatly appreciated,” Zoller said.
Protesters also said they plan to “guerrilla camp”, where they set up in a spot and stay until they are kicked out.
