Dad has been hunting this gobbler for 2 weeks. Finally this morning it paid off and we both are happy.
He says that a story will follow later. Right now, he is preparing the bird for a roost in the BGE
(big green egg).

j2 is on toppa thangs on this hunt cuz he isa 1 up on me...as always
so he begins lite yelp then drag to yip.... gobbler sounded still in roost bout 3-400yrds away
only for a second, then notta nuther sound from him. so i sounded my box at 1/2 chirp..
then anuther gobble kinda scratchy bout 200yrds in opposite direction.....sounds lika jake
so we won't go there. but he kept come'n to us, so we waited for tha show.
i spotted him out bout 75 yrds peck'n an walk'n, he ain't dedicated at all.......gud

i turned my head slowly back to j2, and his eye's were as big baseballs !!!
walk'n out of tha trail come a big fat hen witha big blue headed friend !!!!
thats why he never mada nuther sound cuz he had his pleasure, she wanted to see who is invaden
her territory. she walk'd to tha decoys with war on her mind and tha old gobbler is strut'n to j2's mouth purr. i hit my glass and got his attention to my decoy up on tha hill in front of me.
