By removing God and daily prayer from our classrooms in the formative years has contributed greatly to a belief that it is wrong to believe in God and pray. Thank a liberal. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(
What prayers should be said if there are Jewish, Buddish, Hindu etc. students in the classroom?
there is no problem coming up with an inclusive prayer.  and God will see whats in their hearts.
I've noticed that nascar prayers sometimes include both Christians and Jews.
if hindus etc. asked to be included, I'm sure they would be.
muslims, on the other hand, would probably threaten to blow up the place if they're not included.
If some of the Hindu gods were prayed to or Budda or a Shinto prayer were said in a public school, I am certain many " good Christians" would be at the next school board meeting complaining as loud and as much  as they possible could..

JIMBER45. Contrary to what obama says we are a CHRISTIAN nation, not muslim, or any of the other cults. Christians would not object to Jewish prayer or Jews to Christian prayers. The hindus, buddhists, muslims, and other false god worshipers can either shut up and listen or leave the room. I would not want any of those other so called religions praying for me, nor would I participate in their version of prayer. I'll never be accused of being PC, don't want to be. This is America and we were founded by Christians and not those other cults. The rest can either fit in or shut up. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

I tend to agree with Roger Williams' vision of religious freedom as it was back in 1670, when my first progenitor this side of the Atlantic woshipped with Williams.

The Bible tells us in more than one place that satan is the ruler of this world, and that we are not of this world.  Why do we concern ourselves with the things of this world?

I'll go with separation of church and state . Your arguement explains why I feel that way.

Very un-American....
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

According to some Americans, foreigners are welcome in America as long as they behave and worship as Caucasians do. Sad , but true.

The Supreme Court ruled in 1892 that we were a Christian nation, and that our laws were based on Christian Principles.  No establishment of a religion or denomination, but just Christian Principles.  We sure have gone downhill since then.

Here is a link showing how we allowed Freedom OF RELIGION, not FREDOM FROM religion.  People initially came here for religious freedom, Christian religious freedom.  New England was settled by Puritans.  Pensylvania by Amish, and Lutherians.  Maryland by Catholics.  Baptists initially settled Rhode Island.  John and Charles Wesley preached the gospel in America and established the Methodist Church.  There was the revival called "The Great Awakening" in the 1820's and 1830's.  If you visit Washington DC, it is seething with pictures, documents, even the 10 Commandments on the Supreme Court building.  A "general" acceptance of Christian Principles have always filled America, until 1963.  Then we have gone downhill ever since.

How can you expect some to tolerate non-Christian religions, when they can't even tolerate other Christian denominations?  Read some of the discussions here in the past and you'll see for yourself how other Christian denominations have been attacked.

Could that be because most of the people coming to America at that time were from western Europe ? I think the influx from Asia and the Middle East changed things. No criticism meant here, just my view of how and why things change.

separation of church and state is five words that are NOT in the constitution.  and a lot of people don't have a clue what the meaning of the 1st amendent is.   atheists or any other group have NO right to tell parents that they can't have public prayer before their sons football game.
tiny minorities are now ruling the government, in direct contrast to the intent of the founders.
if a local BOE wants to hang the 10 commandments, government has NO right to take them down.
this government is doing its best to suppress Christianity and Judaism.  under those two religions the government couldn't push their communist agenda.

Christians in America have tolerated others, but now Christians are being ridiculed etc.  Even though in Europe Prostestants and Catholics couldn't get along, and even had wars against each other.  They have tolerated each other peacefully in America.  Jews were persecuted and slaughtered in Europe, but have been tolerated in America.  We can tolerate Muslims, but we don't want their laws overruling ours.  Like I said, most early English, Germans, Irish, and Scotts came to America for religous freedom.  The Spanish came looking for gold.

John 15:19 tells us that the world only accepts it's own.  If we live as the heathens, then the world will accept us.  The world will never accept any Christian who honors God by obeying the Bible.  The English were looking for gold too.
