I am no longer sleeping in my truck.

Well guys things are definitely looking up. ;D  I am back in Pa. My boss has a bunch of work lined up all the way through summer and I just rented a room today and don't have to sleep in my truck any longer. The room I rented is in a house. I have full use of the kitchen and living room. The location of the house is about 20 miles from where we do most of our work instead of the 75 miles from where I used to live. That alone will save me $500 a month in gas. :o :o :o  The rent is $90 a week wich I feel is a pretty good deal. The only down side to it is I live in town wich sucks. I have a lot of money in tools in the back of my truck and all I can do is lock the topper and hope nobody breaks into it. The other thing is I got a guy in his early 20's renting the room next to me. He seems to have a lot of friends coming and going and when I met him he and his buddy were high on something for sure. :-\ :-\  I just hope it's a little weed and not hard drugs because a person on hard drugs tend to have sticky fingers so they can get more drugs. Look into putting an alarm on your truck topper.  May be worth it in the long run.

   i am sure glad things are working out for you, here's hoping the job works out well.  Better watch those neighbors though; people with drug habits tend to want more & more..more sometimes than they can afford.
   When it gets to that point, then the thievery (or worse) starts...if it hasn't started already.  You figure your rent is a great deal, but remember;  " if it seems too good to be true; it probably is".
   I don't want to be a kill-joy, but I am concerned for you..  Drugs and crime go hand-in-hand, I can't see you taking that risk.

On the alarm. Get one that is a 2 way.

He lives within walking distance to the projects in a city of 400k. He doesn't use a siren on the car. Just the remote that warns him in the house. He slips out and catches them unaware and off to the pokey they go. I think it is either 7 or 8 times in 5 years he has caught them. Little gang banger thugs that will break out a window for change in the floor.

Bugflipper I love your scout, my father had one just like that one ! he used it for snow plowing.

Just as soon as I can afford to find a new place to live I am going to do so. Just a few minutes ago the guy that lives across the hall got in a fight with his girlfriend. He is real drunk and screaming f this f that. then I hear crap being thrown around. Next thing I know this guy throws a glass bowl and it hits my door. I opened my door and said hey hey whats going on here. He told me to mind my own Fing business and I told him not to throw crap at my door. I closed my door and I can still hear him yelling out there that he has been in bar fights for 25 years and he kicks peoples butts in bars all the time. He is saying this to another neighbor. I need to get out of here before I hurt this guy. Dale
