No little fish available.....

I finally made it to Panama City for vacation. 1st week was culture shock, turned out spring break was not over, and it was standing room only in the streets, This week much better. I have fished the piers on 8 or 9 days now, and have caught redfish each day, NONE in the slot, they have went from 29 to 36 inches and from 9-16 pounds. I lost several as they wrapped me around the pier legs also, I respooled from  20 pound mono to 30 pound Fireline braid, have not lost any since. Caught a few good Spanish, have seen not a single shark. Beginning to miss home though, until I see the weather channel, 40 degree range and some flooding. I can handle another week of this. X-C-LENT  I know how you feel about the slot reds, had the same problem at Sebastian Inlet,FL. The Snook were the same also.

Update, have ate so many Spanish yo que  ahora hable espanol, (muy poco) The redfish have passed, there are a few Blues coming in, and I have caught 3 sharks, 2 very small, one about 4 feet tonight in the surf. I go home next week, and it has been great. There is still time for a slot Red, and I have yet to catch a Pompano Later....

MMMMMM Pompano, If there was such a thing as desert fish,  Pompano would be it.

Made it home in one piece. Car AC is acting up, so it is a good thing to be home. Back to trout and an occasional catfish Maybe next year......

Glad you made it home A-OK. Since I work as a tug boat pilot on the Ohio River I do a little fishing when things are slow. My deckhands fish for Hybrid Stripes and catfish, me I hit the big carp. 20lbr is the biggest to date. Also all are caught on ultra light gear.
