I've never tried it in a revolver, but the guys I shoot cowboy levergun silhouette with, myself included, all use 200gr. RCBS bullets in our 357 leverguns to be able to knock down the 200M rams. Pistol bullets are no where near as accurate at that range and don't have sufficient momentum to drop the targets. The rifle bullets do the job, even when fired at relatively low velocity.
In a revolver you'll have to watch the overall length closely and remember that deep seated bullets drive up pressures quickly, especially with normal handgun powders. You may end up with two different loads for the two different guns.
