Hornady #2530
« on: April 16, 2012, 03:00:12 PM »
I had come along some Hornady Bullets 25 Caliber (257 Diameter) 87 Grain Spire Points. I was just wondering what these would be used in. They look to long for .25 ACP reloads am I correct in this?

Just wanted to find out befor I pass them along.

Thanks ahead,
TJ

Described in the Hornady Product Catalog as "Traditional varmint bullets".

I use'em in a 250 Savage, they are more destructive than their 75gr HP's

The Hornady #2530 is a rifle bullet. The rifle calibers mentioned all have a nominal groove diameter of .257".  The 25 ACP has a nominal groove diameter of .251".  So no, it wouldn't be a good candidate for a 25 ACP.

They are on the heavy end for .25-20.  Light end for Roberts and -06.  I have some in my cabinet for 25-06 but haven't loaded any yet.  Buddy of mine used to use them on rock chucks.  Very explosive in the scope.
