I went out late in the morning on the opening day and had three nice toms about eighty five yards from me.The wind was blowing really hard on that morning and the just skirted the hillside and vanished.

I dont hunt turkeys myself - I dont think there's enough of them around my place to start shooting em just yet.  I do have a couple buddies in the far western and southern parts of the state. According to them, hunting has been tough this season due to to the brush and trees greening up so early.  They also mentioned that the turkeys haven't been very conversational lately, too.  Its been a strange spring, with the warm weather and all.  I wonder how much that's gonna effect hunting this year in general.
