And every year you see the ncaa making a fuss about keeping athletics fair and making sure that college athletes aren't getting paid or anything extra besides school.... while the ncaa make millions and millions of dollars off of the contracts for cable and sattelite and radio and whatever else.
So you have to play well.... or you will lose your scholarship and no school.....
And you have to do well in school... or you won't be allowed to play.....
Basically they are breeding success for themselves.... and money. I'm not sure if anybody here has ready the definition for indentured servitude lately... but college athletes seem to fit the bill pretty well now a days.
I say as soon as these kids can get out and start making something for themselves instead of being used by others, the better for them.
UK is the only sports team that I follow besides a local NAIA soccer program. It is definitely business, even down to the NAIA level.
I do believe that the rule to attend college before entering the NBA needs to be changed. If a kid has the talent then send him.
If that's what it takes to make the NCAA less of a business I can live with that. Let the stars go pro then play the boys who were just a cut under and I'll still be happy because UK is my team.
I really hope that Darius Miller gets a high pick in the draft. 4 year kid from KY that really improved and glued this team together.
