The two 4227 powders clarified
« on: April 24, 2012, 07:24:12 AM »
Just talked to Dave at Hodgdon about the tale of two powders.
Hodgdon & IMR became one about 7 years ago.
1. H4227 was discontinued
2. For a short period of time, H4227 was brought back.
3.Now, the little black bottle is IMR4227, manufactured by ADI. The IMR4227 formerly available in tins was actually Canadian manufacture.

I sill use it for the big Herrett with Speer or Hornady 180's. Much lower standard deviation and extreme spread of velocity than W296, AA2400, and way, way better than my results with AA1680.
