Uberti or Puma

I've been looking for a lever gun for CAS. I've found a used Uberti 1873 oct. 24 inch barrel for $500.00or a new LSI Puma 1892 oct. 24 inch for $469.00. I was wondering if ya'll could give me your opinions of these two rifles.

Go with the Puma.  I shoot a Rossi made 92 carbine for cowboy silhouette and it is accurate and strong.  It is pretty smooth also.  Mine is in 357mag.

I like the puma rifle even better, with a case hardened receiver and that octogan barrel it is a realy purdy gun.   I was looking for one when I got my carbine but couldn't find one and the carbine was available.  One of the guys I shoot with has the rifle and was admining my silhouette scores with the carbine.  I offered to trade him streight accross and he considered it but before I could get my hands on his rifle he decided not to.

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.

What cal would those be in ?
I would think you could get the puma 92 just  a little cheaper than that.
maybe not....
The uberty will have a nicer fit and finish ( normally  ) than the puma 92 BUT that puma 92 will take a pounding that the 73 won't. It is the more versitle of the 2 as you can shoot CAS and load the 92 for any critter you want to hunt also depending on caliber of course.

I first bought a stainless Puma in .357, then decided I really wanted the Marlin 1894 stainless in .44 mag (based in large part on my recollection of handling one at another store).  When the Marlin arrived, I was so disappointed by nicks and scratches on barrel and action and the crude forearm wood, I had to reject it and happily went back to the Puma for its far superior fit and finish.  And what a joy it is to shoot, usually .38+P's.  Plus ammo is dirt cheap.
