My oldest spouted off something like that when he was about 12 or 13. I grabbed a fist full of shirt, shoved him against the concreat wall with his feet about 6" above the floor. I got right in his face and explained how life worked in my house. He was cool after that till he turned 18.
After his 18th birthday, he started getting a little pushy. One day he grabbed me from behind in a bear hug and lifted me off the floor. He whispered in my ear, "What you going to do now OLD MAN". I just happened to have a 12" cresent wrench in my right hand. A flick of the wrist, and he dropped me to the floor. As he was lying on the floor gasping for air and withering in pain, holding his crotch. His buddy leaned over him and said, "Old age and treachery will win every time". "Don't mess with the old man, he will hurt you". When he was able to talk again, he said "Dad you cheat". I told him to remember that, no matter how old I got, I'd take him out when needed.
Years later he gave words of wisdom to his little brother Sky, when he reached his teen years. "Don't mess with the old man, He'll hurt you".
Got a lot more to say on this subject, but got a Dr appointment. Got to go. Rog As for the brat that kicked the Principal, he needs his hinny spanked.
