I would love to see a 223 or something similiar, maybe 22-250. The 300 Savage in a 7600 I think would be neat. The 300 Savage is interesting. It is one round that I have never heard a bad word said about it. On other talk forums they hold the round in high regards. I have seen it refered to as a "308 Lite". In a carbine version rifle, I personally think it would be great rifle that would fill most needs of the "average" hunter very well. I also think that it would be a great rifle for the beginner all the way up to the experienced hunter. The only downfall is that it does not Super, Short, or Magnum in it anywhere. I suppose, deer are harder to kill now than they were before(ha, ha).
As the trend of being "retro" happens, maybe soon we will see some of these rounds returning in one of the best hunting rifles available in my opinion. :biggun: [/quote]

I didn't vote since the 7-08 wasn't one.  The other catridge would be a 338-06.   :-)  While Remington is at it they may as well make the 7600s in a matte stainless too.  :D

Dave, I did not include the 7mm-08 because they are still available from Grices. There are still 25-06, 7mm-08 and 35 Rem from the special run left over. MIKE.

Ah, it's more clear now that I read the whole question first. I was thinking and not reading. You did say "special" run, not production run. I'll stand by the 338-06 though.

I voted for the .250, but I'd also like to see it in 7X57 and .358 Winchester.

I have two in mind. .223 Rem and .375 Whelen. Those would give me the best of all worlds for centerfire hunting. I don't mind the extra case work. I have done 7TCU, KHornet, 35Whelen, 308X1.5, .33 WCF, .38S&W from Special cases, 458 American, 7.65 Argentine from other cases, and others I have forgotten.  Lots of room between 223 and 375.    Bandito

Well  I voted myself and went with the 257 Roberts. I put the 30-30 and 32 special in as fill. I guess thats what they were, only fill. The 257 is on top of my list followed by the 223, 243, 30-06 carbine, 270, well you get the idea. MIKE.
