Illinois Legislation
« on: April 26, 2012, 04:49:50 PM »
If this isnt on everyone's radar, it should be - especially for people in Illinois.  Its about time for Chicago politicians to stop worrying about the rest of the state, and try to focus on Chicago's problems.

I voted with my feet over fifteen years ago. I'm very happy with so much of Mn., the weather, the people, hunting and fishing opportunities. Guns and ammo are rarely under attack. No suppressors,  no SBR's, I don't know if I would own one if legal, but I like to think my options are open. We do have a very nicely written Carry law, note I did not say Concealed Carry. Let's not go to reciprocity, I'm feeling pretty good right now, no reason to harsh my mellow this early.

Politics, and liberals spending policies tend to get under my skin. I show as many as possible where that road leads... Cook County Il.

This sort of crap passes committee routinely, and I would not expect it to go any further. The stars may align and give you a real slice of euro style disarmament. Stay vigilant

You might be stretching a touch but S.I. is beautiful Bugeye.

I went to SIU B.S. '85 school of ag. Some of my fondest memories were made in Shawnee Nat Forest, Crab Orchard, and the Murphysboro, Il. area. Wanted to live down there after graduating. Interviewed with a coal mining company east of Marion, closest I got to finding a decent job. People tend to forget how lousy the economy was during Reagan's first term.  Oh it was turning, but by no stretch was it easy to find a good job.

At some point, people will have to realize that what is good for Chicago is not necessarily good for the rest of Illinois.  Whats worse is that this legislation is no more than a tax on downstate Illinois residents to create a fund that will be misappropriated for who-knows-what (read Chicago).  If these bills even looked like a sensible attempt to address violent crime, I would still oppose them, but I wouldn't be quite so riled up about them.  At face value, these are a blatant gun-grab/revenue scheme that the far left has cooked up for the rest of us to choke on.  I realize that, in Illinois, these types of bills are a dime a dozen - and that it will not likely make it out of the state House.  What's concerning is the frequency with which they come out and the arrogant audacity of the proposed legislation they contain.  If push comes to shove, I, too will vote with my feet - but not before I can say we fought the good fight and everyone in Chicago knows that we're tired of their B.S. political games.

Registration leads to confiscation, as history proves.  Everyone in IL need to fight this precurser to a gun grab.
