Are lost hearing aids covered by home owners insurance if you have taken out such a policy?

They are considered personal property I would think, and covered subject to your deductible.  I am a retired agent but never had a claim for a hearing aid.
 
Tell them you were standing on your porch and struck by lightning right between the eyes and both aides were ruined.

Thank goodness I put a ryder on my homeqwners before I purchased them and was covered for my loss.
