Absolutely amazing -
First he runs on a platform to do away with BS accounting practices and adopt GAAP.
Then when it suits him he ignores his own pledge to fudge and skew his budget numbers instate ,
yet reporting just the opposite to Fed.

Now in a miracle that that rivals splitting loaves of bread to feed the masses , Miricle Boy has changed water into wine by simply deciding to ignore the system used by the Department of Labor —and every other state in the nation —to measure job growth (or loss) and elected instead to go with a different set of numbers that makes things in Wisconsin look better.

Don't like the standard Measurements  -  Just make up your own. Dork!

Scott Walker Magically Turns Dismal Wisconsin Job Numbers Into A Pre-Election Miracle

http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/05/15/scott-walker-magically-turns-dismal-wisconsin-job-numbers-into-a-pre-election-miracle/

What is amazing is that you liberals argue about what color the sky is... You quote the liberal pundit Rick Ungar and pass it on as news???  I remember when you used to pass yourself off as a conservative, at least you've accepted you own skin now...

In Wisconsin unemployment is down to 6.6% from 7.7% when Walker took office.  Liberals are pointing to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report showing that the state lost 29,000 non-farm jobs during the past year. the BLS figures were based on a sample of 3.5% of the state's employers and are subject to significant revisions. According to the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages — which is a hard count of actual jobs in Wisconsin, not a survey — the state actually gained more than 30,000 since Walker took office.

These are hard numbers and no disputing them.  I really don't know how even a liberal can honestly say that a survey of 3.5% of employers is more accurate than an actually job count...  But hey, they sky is purple in your world...

What amazes me is how the majority of your posts attack the messenger not the message.

So attack the writer who is reporting only what economists and DOL are reporting.
Fact is your boy plays with data to skew and sweep under the rug the truly abysmal job his far right wing enacted policies have produced. You don't like the message so you smear the messenger. I trust DOL stats alot more than I do your support of a guy who oozes slime and uses slimy tactics to cover up and pull the wool over the eyes of Wisconsin.

Divide and conquer was his quote captured on tape I believe..., and lets not forget the slimy phone call when he thought he was talking to his puppet master Koch buddy.

Walker is a status quo politician scum bucket. If you choose to ignore the facts well that's your prerogative.

And as for me , I am not a far right wing extremist , I am fiscally conservative and more moderate on social issues.
Actually I'm not Sorry I don't fit into your neat little box and think for myself Bucky, But then of course that's why I align myself with , and my vote will go to to Ron Paul.

Here's some info from a reliable source..  http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/05/15/scott-walker-magically-turns-dismal-wisconsin-job-numbers-into-a-pre-election-miracle/

yep IG look above -
Same source I posted. which raised the Ire of Bucko who since the source was reliable, he  decided to attack and denigrate  the reporter (interesting he didn't go after the economists or DOL or the other 49 states themselves that follow the standard)  , who reported the facts as conveyed by economists and DOL because he couldn't attack the facts and the message itself.

But of course I expect no less, rather than people becoming informed and educated on subjects and thinking for themselves , they will blindly defend.

Divide and conquer worked perfectly and I support his method 100%.  And if he was a satus quo politician as you say, he wouldn't have been recalled... He would be in the back pock of unions doing the "status quo", which is nothing.  He got rid of a 3.6 billion dollar budget, is projecting a 156 million dollar surplus, decreased unemployment to 6.6% created 34 thousand jobs, passed conceal carry, and the best part... He handcuffed the out of control public unions that have been robbing the state blind for decades. If he has to divide and conquer to do it, go and do it some more...

And as for me , I am not a far right wing extremist , I am fiscally conservative and more moderate on social issues.
You obviously do not know what fiscally conservative means.  I have had many conversations with proud liberals and you run lock, stock and barrel with their fiscal views...

yeah right ! Walkers Austerity measures have worked so so well he has had to skew accounting data to falsify budget numbers , then falsify standards to avoid DOL employment stats.  One need only to look towards Europe and UK to see how well Austerity measures work.  You think he would look at what it did to them and avoid a double dip recession in wisconsin.

But I understand it's hard when you have to answer to your corpo puppet masters first and not the common man.
Your puppet boy has no clue what it means to be CONSERVATIVE. Far right extremist for sure, Conservative ? his policies prove differently.  The man doesn't have a clue.

Yep Buckwheat , guilty as charged.

I certainly stand with Labor every time and proud of it.
The laborer built this country and made it great.
Someone needs to protect them and ensure they earn a livable wage , and it sure as heck isn't
going to be the likes of your your Boy Walkers buddy corp koch type backers et tal.

The American laborer is nothing more than a necessary infrastructure debit against a coprs balance sheet until they can figure out a way to off shore for cheaper labor. If a corporation can run fully automated it's a no brainer of course they would as a corporation it makes perfect sense to do so (Hey Mitt , corps are not people my friend!!) but until that time they will try and keep those ugly payroll debit as low as possible. At least unions fight for a liveable wage to ensure laborers can live above the poverty line.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/scott-walker-leads-wisconsin-recall-poll-210046051.html

Walker (John Hart/Wisconsin State Journal via AP) A new poll in Wisconsin has Scott Walker holding a growing lead over Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the upcoming recall election.
The Republican governor holds a six-point lead over Democrat Barrett, 50 to 44 percent, among likely voters surveyed by Marquette Law School, May 9-12. The poll's margin of error for likely voters was plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
The results represent a five-point increase for Walker over Barrett since Marquette's previous poll in late April.
The findings released this week by Marquette mirror those released by other polling outlets.
Public Policy Polling recently conducted a survey on the recall race for liberal site Daily Kos which showed Walker leading Barrett 49 to 45 percent. That poll's margin of error was plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
Activists launched a recall effort against Walker following his 2011 war on state public employee unions. Barrett was chosen by state voters in the May 8 primary to face Walker in the June 5 recall.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Thursday that the monthly jobs report from the Department of Workforce Development showed 6,200 private sector jobs lost in the state in the month of April. The newspaper noted that the validity of the monthly report has been questioned.

Ohhh those poor protected union members, everyone feels so sorry for them... And that is why you hear so much of it in this election, because that is why Walker is being recalled, Right>>>.  Damn Act 10... every other commercial, and that's all that Barrett talks about.... Oh wait, nevermind... It hasn't come up in weeks, since the Union's bought and paid for b!#@& got destroyed by Barrett.  Wonder why that is??? Wonder why Walker is up 6+ points already???  Oh yeah, his plan is working as designed.  And too boot it is entertaining watching all the liberals fume. I must admit I am enjoying this more and more.  Every war a victory... Remember the 3000+ post topic last year Scootie???  I seem to remember many entertaining posts from you, many predictions, many loosing arguments, all wars a loss for the liberals... Good times...

Buckskin, excellent post, sir.   Unions and liberals and Democrats cannot run a straight campaign because all the have are fal

St762sehoods, obfuscations, distortions, and thuggery.    The key to understanding the liberal and Democrat mindset is simple -- one simply has to look at my tag line on liberals.    Keep up the good work -- i am praying for a victory for Governor Walker and Lieutenant Governor.   Two reasons:   1.   They are doing a good job because the LIbErals are having seizures; and 2.  Lt Gov Kleefisch is a lot prettier than anyone the Democrats have on their ticket. ;D

Scootrd,,,I'm amazed too, esp with RTBA guys..
There was a time in this country when the mention, rumor or facts of big money in politics buying influence, elections and hey boys was held in contempt by the average citizens. Oh, sure __this money in politics went on, but at least people knew it diminished their control and legitimacy of the governmnet.  Nowadays, this is accepted...even SCOTUS has codified with People United and the superPAC business'.  (Good to hear Vermonters are fighting back against this seizure of The People's power, btw).
.
Recently, a large segement of the people have come to identify with the empowerment and welfare of the elite class, wealthy, corporations, TPTB, the Oligarchy of the powerful....or whatever you want to call them.....thinking that their own welfare and security as common citizens will be indirectly improved by trickle down economics, alleged lower taxes, deregulations, foreign wars, busting unions, and so on.  This group of people are known as "conservatives" and they identify with the agenda of their oppressors hoping for trickle down benefitts, crumbs from the table, law and order, hope and pray they don't get sick and other indirect benefits; while shunning any direct benefits from the system....so they identify and support their masters  .  This practice I use to call self-styled or so-called conservativism, but now call fake conservatism, because it is identifying with one's oppressor, never asking the right questions, and relinquishing The People's power to hired technocrats bought by the Oligarchy. Identifying and mouthpiecing for your oppressor or captors who enslave you is not conservatism--its the opposite and it has a name..its called  Stockhom Syndrome... and assures permanent slave status.
.
This is why Wisconsin is an interesting study....

The union guys of today are not the great nation builders of old.  If the old timers were to come back and see what has become of their trades they would vomit and my guess is that they would refuse to be apart of such nonsense.  Anyone who has ever worked around union labor knows exactly what I am talking about...  And all this hate for the corporations, you do realize that without guys with money and ambitions we would still be living in log cabins, plowing with horses and using flintlocks.  The guys with sucessful businesses got that way from doing more than swinging a hammer.  All of this class warfare that the liberals (and the - I certainly stand with Labor every time and proud of it - guys) spew is just trying to create jealousy, because they know they can't argue on facts.  Liberals always fight with feelings because that is all they have.  Unfortunately nearly half of the country has become takers instead of makers, so it's becoming an easy sell...  Europe is our destiny if that attitude doesn't change soon, luckily it seems to be changing in Wisconsin!!!

+ 3 Buckskin.  The left wing has attached themselves to the unions through the public sector, maybe that's what wrecked the unions, I don't know, but I can't see them now as anything but another political type of organization making contracts with employees I pay, and I have no say over any of it, nor am I invited to the negotiations or meetings...but I pay for whatever they decide.
It's always going to hurt somebody when when funds are cut that are not there,  and people will scream, but I can't figure out why so many people do not realize you can't spend what you don't have.  It's like they actually think you can go on forever spending more than you take in with no consequences.  That is really weird they think there is no end to tax payer money and debt means nothing to them.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinal reporting;

State unions were dealt a setback Friday when a federal judge said they would have to get their members to opt in, rather than opt out, to have the state deduct union dues from their paychecks.

Well isn't that a great idea!  You get to choose to be in an organization instead of being forced into one and then being forced to pay dues!!!  Seriously, how can anyone justify making people join a union???  The Walker wins just keep rolling in... Now if we could just get the liberal judges in Wisconsin to start following the constitution and let voter ID stand...

Buckskin...all an interesting rap on unions and labor and nostalgia of yesteryear.  But you ignore the facts that also Corporations have changed, their owners have changed, their relationship with government has changed, that amounts of money siphoned off by top eschelons is 500-5000+ times what it use to be...and so on.  During the era you nostalgiacize when unions were fairer you say,,,were Corps fairer, too?  Would the owners at the drop of hat offshore, or hire imported immigrant wokers?.  Did the owners live and work in the same community as their workers? Were all the major coprs co-opted by the Wall St casino or off shore competiton. If one didn't have a job for awhile could he more easily get along and survive, because nowadays without a job you're going down in short order.  Its one thing to wax nostalgic about the way things were, but must be taken in perception to the whole changing landscape.

None of which changes the fact that without the corporations the unions would have NOTHING!!!!!!!

Unions or groups of workers can own a business. In fact, many if most all union or workers in ongoing corps own some stock.  Can't ignore the fact that as unions have changed, the owners, and corporations have changed as well,,,and maybe not for the better either, especially with Wall St insertion.

This brings to mind a memory of a comical incident.  Many years ago a Wheeling WV steel company (as I reacall) was about to fail..I suppose because of union demands.  The union bought the company out and started to run it.
Soon, some of the workers were displeased..not enough pay & bennies..and they went on strike.  This is where the news cameras came in.
Newsman approaches striker..after inquiring about his demands, the reporter asks;  " You are aware that the union now owns the company, aren't you ?"
The striker puts down his sign , leans upon the sign post and says rhetorically..

        " Yeah..that's right. Why am I out here..striking against myself ?"  ..DUH... ;)   ;D   ;D   ;D

Wow! This liberal rag supporting Walker again!  Barrett is up a creek and the poor, poor public unions don't know which way to paddle.  I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this.  Hey... Where is Scooter?  I seem to remember this happening last year after the collective bargaining battle was won by Walker and the taxpayers.  He posted several hundred times and then vanished for six months after the union loss...

That's right. It doesn't really behoove any labor org driving a business out of business as they hollowly claim.....they'd be out of a job and up the creek when benefits run out.  That's why the whine that labor are driving business' out of business is a bit artificial.

And you seem to be oblivious to the obvious.  The guy in Ironglow's story did not realize what he was doing until AFTER he went on strike and AFTER someone pointed out to him what he was doing.  You know, sort of like those union members that continue to strike for more until the company goes out of business.  I don't believe they want the company to go out of business, but they are too short sighted and too greedy to understand the danger until it is too late.  All goaded on by the unions.

I & my family will be supporting Walker. Just a reminder, he wasn't out to 'fight the unions' He was out to get the budget deficit fixed. The unions dug in & were an obstacle to any MEANINGFUL reform. Contrast WI with CA & IL, unsustainable I say. If you need more take a peek at Greece & Spain.

Hey... Where is Scooter?  I seem to remember this happening last year after the collective bargaining battle was won by Walker and the taxpayers.  He posted several hundred times and then vanished for six months after the union loss...

I vanished for 6 months to be with my father during his final months while he died from Cancer.
But hey thanks for noticing buckwheat.

Just a reminder, he wasn't out to 'fight the unions' He was out to get the budget deficit fixed.

That's not what the latest "divide and Conquer" video exposed when catching him speaking to his million $$ doner.
He admitted it was all political. Additionally he could be in trouble for lying under oath to congress if they choose to pursue.

In sworn testimony before Congress in April 2011,  Gov. Walker said his controversial measure was not political and that he had no intention of going after the donor base of the Democratic Party. He specifically denied ever having a conversation along those lines.A Videorecently released by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel provides evidence to the contrary.
The video catches Walker talking to a campaign contributor in January 2011, before he introduced the union-busting bill. Billionaire Diane Hendricks greets Walker with enthusiasm and asks two critical questions: how he was going to make Wisconsin a "red state" and if he would be implementing "Right to Work" legislation. Walker replies that the "first step" would be "divide and Conquer" the unions through a budget bill dealing with public sector workers. He also discusses legislation to limit corporate liability.
This frank talk to a woman who would later hand his recall campaign committee as single check for $500,000, puts the Walker agenda in a new light.

In the video, Walker is shown meeting with Hendricks before an economic development session at the headquarters of a firm Hendricks owns, ABC Supply Inc., in Beloit. After Walker kisses Henricks, she asks: “Any chance we’ll ever get to be a completely red state and work on these unions?”
“Oh, yeah!” says Walker.
Henricks then asks : “And become a right-to-work [state]?”
Walker replies: “Well, we’re going to start in a couple weeks with our budget adjustment bill. The first step is we’re going to deal with collective bargaining for all public employee unions, because you use divide and conquer.”
After describing the strategy, Walker tells the woman who asked him about making Wisconsin a “completely red state”: “That opens the door once we do that.”
In a transcript of raw footage from the conversation, Hendricks asks Walker if he has a role model. Walker replies that he has high regard for Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, who early in his term used an executive order to strip collective-bargaining rights away from public employees and who, more recently, signed right-to-work legislation. Walker described the use of the executive order to undermine union rights as a “beautiful thing” and bemoaned the fact that he would have to enact legislation to achieve the same end in Wisconsin.
Within weeks, the woman who asked Walker about his strategy to make Wisconsin “a completely red state” wrote a $10,000 check to support his campaign. (She would eventually up the donation to $510,000, making Hendricks the single largest donor in the history of Wisconsin politics.) Within a month, Walker had launched the anti-union initiative that the two had discussed as a part of that “red-state” strategy, provoking mass protests that would draw the attention of Congress.
Testifying under oath to the US House Oversight and Government Reform Committee,Walker said in his formal statement and in response to questions from committee members that his efforts to restrict the collective-bargaining rights of unions— including moves to prevent them from collecting dues, maintaining ongoing representation of members and engaging effectively in political campaigns—had nothing to do with politics.

You seem to have a 'relativity connection impairment', an inherent inability to apply or recognize relative stories or connenect significances.  The guy in IG's story realized what side of his bread was buttered on....likewise most labor orgs do also; contrary to self-possessed conservatives as yourself, which isn't putting management out of business and be out of a job; or to be management's excuse for shutting down or offshoring.  Hope this helps.

Wisconsin is on the road to recovery.

What are you smoking? ??? ?

HMMM Lets see....
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says Wisconsin lost more jobs in the past year than any other state. The bureau's figures show 17,800 of the 23,900 jobs lost in the Badger State from March 2011 to March 2012 were government jobs. The loss of 6,100 private-sector jobs was also tops among the 50 states. quite a long ways from the 250,000 new jobs he promised.

The lowered unemployment rate that Walker keeps touting can be accounted for by people losing their unemployment benefits or by simply leaving the labor force and thus no longer being counted. The Saturday April 6th front-page story in the Journal documented the trend in great detail.

Scott Walker says he didn't raise taxes. If you are a wealthy corporation or a super-rich donor to Walker's campaign you might benefit from his $93.8 million tax cut for those who least need help. The Legislative Fiscal Bureau projects that Scott Walker's tax giveaways will cost Wisconsin 2.3 Billion in lost revenue.

Aside from his abysmal record....

He used bogus accounting practices to report budget, and got busted for it. Candidate Walker said he would require the use of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to balance every state budget, just as we require every local government and school district to do." But since GAAP make the numbers look bad, he reverted back to the exact same accounting practices he ran against to begin with (so that makes him a liar as well).

He is proven a koch puppet boy per his taped phone call.

Now He's a proven liar to congress per divide an conquer video

On the road to recovery  ??  Hardly !!!! But hey let's not get let the facts get in the way. It's much better to stick with baseless opinions.

No it does not, (but keep repeating it maybe others will drink your elixer) . cash basis is what he railed against when he was candidate claiming  how false that standard of accounting was and he would ensure state would start using the GAAP.
Guess he changed his mind when he figured out using GAAP painted a more dismal yet more accurate projection.

The cash accounting method allows gimmicks to bring the budget into balance. For instance, shifting payments to local governments into the next fiscal year in order to make the budget appear balanced in the present.

GAAP, accrual accounting method, is a tighter standard that counts future liabilities that flow from past budget actions.

using Walkers own budget (page 33) Public record look it up.

GAAP is what he reports to fed , not cash,  which is what he is trying to report in-state to hide from Wisconsin his policies are not working. Stop reading spin and research for yourself.

Opening Balance (in millions) and yes these are negative numbers. deficit not surplus.
2010-2011  -$2,943.3
2011-2012  -$2,965.8
2012-2013  -$2,990.5

After all debits and credits (unfortunately even greater shortfall in revenue, could have had more but Walker gave huge corpo breaks to state )

Closing balance Before applying GAAP.  (in millions)
2010-2011  -$2,904.0
 2011-2012  -$2,932.0
 2012-2013  -$2,982.2

Now we apply adjustments using GAAP (even more of a shortfall). Estimated closing balance after GAAP (in millions)

2010-2011  -$2,965.8
 2011-2012  -$2,990.5
 2012-2013  -$3,024.5

But again lets not let facts get in the way.
