I donated $100 to Walker.Probably about the best $100 I've contributed to a politician. Anything to break the strangle hold of these public unions. These public sector unions and their members are raping the tax payers and destroying our country.

The Wife & I would of walked on broken glass to vote for Walker. It wasn't about 'union busting', it was about using modest reforms to balance the Sate budget. I know some can't fathom that, so be it.

"Governor" Walkers agenda was to "divide and conquer" from the git go. Those were his exact words.

Why are you lefties so worked up over Koch ?  There are lots of wealthy names in the political games. Besides Koch there are other, very wealthy names involved financing political hacks.. names like Soros, Buffet, Spielberg, Jobs (the late), Gates, Oprah, and many other wealthies from the entertainment business....  So why do you single out only Koch.... for special attention ?

Modest reforms:  Public service unions work the same hours for about the same pay, benefits and job protections as those involved in  similar private employment .
.............................
  From Doug B;
Divide and conquer:  Any fair minded person reviewing that video would have to agree with Walker.  The lady asks him what he plans on doing for the RIGHT TO WORK rule.

1)  The "right to work" represents a basic freedom..that a worker would not be forced to join a union in order to take any job.

2)  Who has been refusing a worker's "right to work"?.. why the unions of course. They could have compromised..

3)  Thus, in order to regain this essential freedom which has been taken away since the 1930s, he had to "divide and conquer".

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The simple fact is, this is exactly the same tactic Obama is presently using against the American voter in general..
When we hear Doug B excoriating Obummer for his "divide and conquer' tactics, perhaps then we will listen more closely.. ;)

This is a great day for Wisconsin and the Country!  Walker proved that it can be done, and hopefully more states will follow.  He won by a bigger margin than he did a year and a half ago and became the first governor recalled that was able to hold his seat.  That is a big statement against the union stronghold in this country. Watch the news in the next couple months for major job growth in this state and economic recovery beyond what has already occurred.  And all of this over the union paying a little for their insurance and pension.... Seriously, take a long look at yourselves if you are a public union member today.  I see one of them checked in at 9pm last night, wonder if he will reply this year...

There is a huge difference between public employee unionism and unions in private enterprise.  Especially when the unions are allowed to participate and back the very officials who they will have to bargain with for their goodies.  Then the public (taxpayers) are the ones who have to pay the freight.  It's just not right.

You all know where I stood and still stand.
It's amazing how Citizens United was used to flood monies into the state to influence and sway general  populace.  However , either way - Wisconsin has spoken.  It appears the majority wanted corrupt Corpo Puppet Boy (R-Koch) to stay so stay he will. I do wish Wisconsinites the best of luck with their decision. They will certainly have to live with the negative business growth , and the kick the can down the road but skew the numbers budget games the decision made brings with it.

My views certainly appear to have been proven to be in the minority - This just emphasizes the reason I walked away from this new so called republican party this past year and what I view as Far right extreme-ism policies. Lay down with dogs , get up with fleas.

Money talked . Democracy walked - (with a serious limp) Thank you citizens United.
I'm not lookin back and  I'm comfortable with that. No room for moderation in politics anymore.

Good for him. The state unions already divided and conquered that place for the worse. If it takes a divide and conquer approach to bust up the socialist agenda of the state run unions, that is as American as it gets.

Yes they are 'modest reforms'. The curbs on unions collecting dues is one of the main reason for all the angst. It is very clear they fought to keep $$ & power. I'm not one to trade barbs on the net, I am very glad the election turned out this way. I'm pleased that a good number of others feel the same way.

Ya, me too, when the unions start attaching themselves to the state budget it's time to rein them in, like others here private unions are not any threat to me at all, I don't work there, I don't pay, but unions that attach themselves to people I pay in the public sector and write contracts with them without my input or presence...that's not right.  I pay those wages and pensions and health care, along with me paying for all my own stuff, with no pension at all.  I only have so much money, they don't seem to worried about that.  And I hope we never ever bail out another private union again...ever...that was an assult against my liberty and freedom as an individual.

At least it appears the senate may have changed control.

This will help ensure proper balance and one party will not be allowed to ramrod any pieces of legislation through. Both parties will now be forced to work together and with Walker in Bi-parisan fashion to pass any true moderate forms of legislation.

Not the way it will work. The state senate will not meet again until 2013. We have elections again in November 2012 where the republicans after redistricting has taken place will probably regain the senate majority. Sorry scoot, but just wishful thinking on your part.

would be a nice reprise. whether it's Obama ramrodding healthcare at the fed level , or states ramrodding partisan policies , this years far right / far left citizens United funded, corporate bought interests,  tug of wars have not been good for us as a nation on the whole.

The idea that workers should be paid in rough value to the services they render is not a "partisan policy" and that's why a signficant majority of voters in a state the voted for Obama also voted for Walker.

You're only as guilty as most of the "Conservative" posters here in the ridiculous degree that you slant your language, but honestly, the unions have been too powerful for too long, and obviously I'm not the only one who thought so.

Ahhh ...Hmm ... let me think ....Oh yeah ....thats it.... The people of Wisconsin did.

Public Employee Unions:

1. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees was founded in 1936 in Madison.

2. Wisconsin passes one of nation’s first collective bargaining laws for public employees in 1959.

Wisconsin also led the nation in giving public employees the right of collective bargaining. The nation’s largest public employee union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees was founded in Madison in 1936; throughout the state, public employees organized, even though they had no legal protections. Nonetheless, public workers, like those in Milwaukee regularly showed solidarity in threatening to strike to win fair treatment. Finally in 1959, the State passed the nation’s first comprehensive public employee bargaining law, Section 111.70, which provided the right of collective bargaining to public employees, and also required municipalities, school districts the university system and other public entities to bargain with the unionized workers.

I have often thought of your State as too liberal, but I am proud of WI today. Another thing which helped matters is when your state passed Conceiled Carry. i simply will not drive into IL for this reason. You have some nice country, esp. toward the Northern part, reminds me of home minus 20-30 degrees depending on the time of the year.
May your State continue to prosper.

Ahhh . . . hmmm, I don't think that would be the People of Wisconsin.  That would have been the elected officials (i.e. politicians) that did it.  And, I'm sure they did it at the lobbying of the unions.  As far as I know, there was NO referendum on this by the People of Wisconsin.

As far as I know there was NO referendum on stripping collective bargining by the People of Wisconsin. It was Walkers own agenda.

I believe the election yesterday was that referendum.    ;)

Who ramroded the burden of rediculous pension programs and collective barganing Rights for state union workers down the throats of the Wisconsin tax payers?

You mean the people in the unions, not the people. Lets not mislead anyone here. Your impliing that all the people in Wisconsin wanted this. The only ones that did are the unions and they paid off the legislature to ramrod this down the throats of its citizens.

We all make mistakes, this election officially corrected those that you pointed out...  Maybe if the unions didn't abuse those privileges, they wouldn't have had them taken away. Kind of like a kid in control of the cookie jar, sooner or later he gets fat and sassy or a responsible party takes over the distribution. In Wisconsin, both occurred.

We are too liberal thanks to Madison and Milwaukee. If you take away those two liberal cesspools we would be extremely conservative.  Not only that, much better off...

Check out the results by county and you will see what I mean...
