Yes I use Simmons scope on several of my Contenders....... I have a 11/2-4x on my 358JDJ, and 21/2x7's on my 14" SSK 223, 309JDJ, and Virgin Valley 6.5T/CU but these are the older Gold Medal scopes.....I also have a Simmons 4x ProHunter pistol scope on my 71/2" 480 SRH, real nice scope for the $$$ and although its only seen 175 rounds it seems to be holding up well, I sure wouldn't hesitate to put one on a 14"30-30.

I recently bought a 2-8 Prohunter from Natchez  (113.00) put it on a
10" 30-30 and have put about 300 rounds through it.  seems to be real well finished and bright and clear to the edges with eye relief remaining fairly constant at all powers.
Ajustments seem fairly consistent.

I have an older 7x currently on a .256 Win that has been on several barrels over the years.  Fine crosshairs and target knobs with AO.  Eye relief is just a bit less than I'd think perfect, but it sure gets the job done.

Was a staunch Burris scope man when it comes to pistols for many years, didn't like the Leupolds and wouldn't even consider a (shudder) Tasco or Simmons!    Well, JD Jones at SSK changed that somewhat many years ago.   He got me to try the Simmons Gold Medal 2.5-7 on some of my SSK handcannons, and for those barrels I hold to shorter distances, they get the job done well.  Model was dropped so I scurried to buy up a bunch before they were gone (I heard Weaver is making it though) and I also gathered up a bunch of the old Tasco Pro Class with 30mm tubes.   Tasco?   Yep - turned out to be real good scopes and I still have a bunch of them riding on most of my heavy handcannons.   Rest of the Simmons or Tasco line never got any of my business though.   FWIW.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
