Ok I just wanna start this thread for a lil fun, forgive me if its been done before. If you could build a dream handi what would it be?? include caliber( try to make at least somewhat realistic for a handi action), barrel length and contour, stock type, blued or stainless etc. What kind of sights and the whole nine yards. If you happen to own your dream handi already please post a pic.

I guess ill start, i grew up in a family who hunted with leverguns and single shots so that being said the 348 winchester was always talked about in mythical proportions. So, I would start with a fiddle back maple stock with full length forend. Stainless barrel and action with a 22'' barrel and a leupold m8 fixed 4x.

How about a nice dark walnut thumbhole stock in stainless .260 or 6.5. 24' barrel.

I would like a 7.62x39 with a 16 1/2 inch barrel manlicker stock with a set of semi buckhorn sights and I will take a 357 barrel of same length and sight set up.and Ruger style integrated scope bases?

High figured MC walnut stock, schanable forend. SS frame and barrel, heavy sporter, spiral fluted. Old style hammer. SS trigger gaurd and spacer. 6.5 Grendel.

I am stuck on the idea of a 221 Fireball. It would be great with a walnut or palletwood laminated stock. I want it with a long forearm like the BC. I would put a 4-12x40 with mil-dot scope on it.

In my case I would want a 25/20 or 32/20 with the 16.5 barrel, handigrip synthetic camo stocks, and I remember seeing a fixed power 6X or 8X compact scope with a mildot reticle. That will not happen, so I am waiting on that possible 300AAC barrel that I could put a rim cut in for 357 brass. I dont need another deer gun, long range varminter, or something high speed or powerful. I need something very light, short, quiet, accurate, easily reloadable, and can use cast bullets. I want something to replace my 22 mag that I gave my grandson. The Hornet is a bit light, not too easy to cast for, and probably too fast.I was thinking about a 60 to 80 gr bullet at 1750 to 2000fps. I shoot a few dozen rounds of deer loads a year, the rest are at targets, pests, and varmints. The 22mag did most of that, but it was a little light for coyote sized game, loud, and not reloadable. The 357 is quiet, but that is with 185 gr cast loads. If I could get the same results in a smaller, lighter caliber, it would be great. It is way more crowded around here than it used to be.

Like OL BW I've been toying with the 221 Fireball idea. I'm going to p/u a new 22 Hornet in a couple of weeks and have been wondering if this would be a good candidate. I already have a buyer if I decide to sell the barrel. I just got interested in Handis a couple of months ago and bought a 44 mag. Then p/u a BC which with some help from a member here I rebarreled it with a CC 45 Colt barrel. I like the idea of a 221 FB in a longer barrel than the Hornet. Maybe a 24" Stainless fluted just for the looks.

Dream Handi??? I had a crazy dream not too long ago about shooting a 50 BMG at 1000 yds in a Handi

.....and the recoil dislocated my shoulder.

I'd like to see a light weight barrel in the 327 chambering, be a nice light walk about rifle. And since rifles are so hard to find, a 41 mag barrel to hook to one of my frames. DP

An old profiled 158 in 25-35, combo with profiled 20 ga..Have it in 30-30...20ga..it rocks!

An ALL Stainless steel gun with cinnamon laminated stock and fore end (not thumb hole). Deciding on a case is a problem, so I would say 30-06, because it can be used for so much.

8mm Mauser with a MC rollover stock and full length thin profile english walnut stock trimmed in a polished antler and ebony grip cap and forend ending in a thin profile blued steel barrel cap as to not take away from the antler and ebony end work. The stock and foreend would have hand carved hunting scene witha an oak wreath border. Top it off with a luepold 2x7 in a #4 german reticle.
