I just moved to the kansas city area from colorado. thought I'd try my hand at turkey hunting. Bought a box call and sat in the woods at the edge of a field and just mimiced the hens I heard making noise. To make a long story short, I didnt get one but did have a turkey sitting behind me wondering what the heck was making all those noises. I didnt shoot because I couldnt positively identify the sex of the bird, but I was amazed at the effectiveness of a 10 dollar box call in the hands of a person that never used one before. Im headed back out, any suggestions?
