 i got sent home from work this morning .  turns out today marks my 20 year aniversery  of the day  i  started   mining  coal  , my very thoughtful employer gave me the rest of the  week off , a very nice stainless rolex watch  and 10 crisp new $100  bills  .
 this came as a bit of a shock to me , i have to wonder where the time has gone ,  seems like only yesterday  i was just a 19 y/o kid   starting  my first real job  .
now i wonder if  coal will be alive long enough for me to get the gold watch  at 30 years , the thought of finding a new ocupation  terrifies  me as i dont know how to do anything else but pull levers in a bulldozer .
turn on your air conditioners  and use more power guys  i need 10 more years

Hate ta burst yer bubble but WM did away with the greeters. Most had been there many years, so WM eliminated their jobs and transferred them to jobs they can no longer do, forcing them to retire and opening the dr for new PART TIME help at the starting rate. Enjoy you free time and new toy. POWDERMAN.

georgeinohio, I too live in Ohio. Right up on Lake Erie.Not 2 miles from a coal fired electric plant.(Toledo Edison-now First Energy) Their in the process of shutting it down, as they claim it puts to much pollution in the air. I've known a few guys that worked there. While I'm not against nuclear energy, that steam plant has covered our butts around here when one of the nuke plants has to be shut down. Sure seems to me that adding some scrubbers to the stack is alot cheaper than shutting it down and possible building another one. As powderman pointed out, the anointed one in Washington is doing all he can to shut his country down. In the mean time, I'll leave a light on for ya! gypsyman

    Obama and Biden both claim that China is building 2 new "dirty" coal fired generating plants every week.  They are willing to spend our time/money cleaning up China's plants...but are bent on closing our plants down..go figure..

But we were promised that solar and pond scum energy would supplant coal and oil.  How's that working out?  Give it another four years and we'll be there.  georgeinohio, you'll be able to retire early.  It don't get any better than that.
