Forend for 16 1/4 " Encore barrel
« on: May 09, 2012, 01:57:19 PM »
I just purchased a 16 1/4" Encore barre?....Does anyone know what forend it uses?  Rifle? Pistol? or one especially for the 16 1/4" barrel?

Just picked up a 16 1/4" custom shop barrel myself recently. None of my rifle forends fit but I came across a Pachmyer pistol forend and it lined up perfect. Hope this helps.

Thanks.....I happen to have one of those forends myself...Can't wait to get my barrel mounted along with a new Choate folding stock. Appreciate the response.

I bought two 16 1/4 inch Encore barrels in .308 and .243 Win.  I sent both off to Bullberry to install the dovetails for their hanger bar system.  Bullberry will not thread a barrel they didn't make so I then sent to Adco for barrel threading for a Suppressor. Those short barrels will work great in a tree stand and with a suppressor on are not so long and cumbersome.  I was told that when Smith&Wesson moved Encore Production, they made the 16.25 inch barrels out of short pieces of left over barrel stock.  I have seen plenty of 15 inch Encore barrels but never any in 16.25".  I love mine!
