Nice Marlin at newly opened gunshop
« on: May 09, 2012, 02:43:45 PM »
I stopped by a newly opened gunshop in town the other day. They don't have a lot of long guns yet but they did have a nice straight stocked (non pistol grip) Marlin 30-30 with a half length Magazine tube, it looked older but it did have a crossbolt safety on it. I have always been a sucker for straight stocked lever guns and the half mag really made it look sweet. It has a scope with a see through mount on it as well which could easly be removed to make a SWEET woods gun. I am going to pass but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone is interested. I am really unfamiliar with this model, does anyone know anything about it?...<><.... :)

Sounds like a 336T or 336TK.

Sounds like the Marlin 30TK, sold in '88 '89 and '90 through K-Mart, 2/3 length tube and uncheckered birch stock, in .30-30 only. I've never saw one in person, but hear they are as quality as is the 336 or other Marlins.....    .DT

Thanks .Dirty-.30, IIRC the shop owner did say the model number started with a 30 and was floowed by a couple of letters, I think you hit it right on the head. I am still thinking of buying it, if it was a .35 it would have gone home with me as soon as I saw it....<><....:)

Lot of nice older Marlins setting out there on pawn shop shelves and leaned up in in gun stores. Hunting for Marlins is one of the finest hunts you can go on   ;D
