How much did you pay for your Encore?
« on: January 31, 2004, 03:21:04 AM »
It seems that I'm  hearing an almost $100 variance of what we paid for our Encores. I don't know if it is tied to when the rifle was purchased or geographic location.

Here is my information.
$450. December 2003. Oklahoma City. .270 Win/24" barrel. Blue & Walnut.

Once my income tax check arrives I will finaly get mine.  Ive done the checking and Im looking to pay:

$499.80 for my Encore blued, w/ synthetic stocks and 24" .30-06 barrel.

I am getting an additional pistol barrel and stocks.:  .454 Casull, 12" for $216 and the stocks combined for around 50 or 60 bucks.

Brian.

The synthetic-stock Encore was $425 at the same store I purchased mine.
(Outdoor Outfitters/Oklahoma City).
Their cost to ship to another FFL is $10. It cost me $15 to ship my Encore back to the factory for warranty work. Depending on the recieving FFL's charge, you may save a bit contacting the OKC store.

Bought mine when they first hit the market. Got a blue, 26" heavy barrel in 22-250 with a pistol grip and a 15" 7.62x39 for $550. Now, I see the 209x50's going for $550 alone.

:)   I paid 30 work hours for mine. But then, after Unc Sam and the
Governor got through with what they figured they had to have out of
my paycheck, I had to work another 11:15.   :D

I picked my 209X50 SS Composite up last year at about this time.  Got it on AuctionArms.com for $500.00 shipped.  The seller included a Leupold QD base and rings at no cost.  I sold those on eBay for a profit of about $60.00.  Then I sold the composite stocks on eBay for about $70.

Then I turned around and bought a set of laminated wood for it from eabco.com for $120.00.  Then I topped it with a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X40mm in Warne Maxima QD rings and mount.  Scope was $200.00 and mounts were $80.00.

I guess my rig has about $770.00 invested in the muzzleloader set-up.  I woln't even start in on my pistol or .223 rifle barrel set-ups.

TOO MUCH!!! Well, to start out with I traded a Ruger Mk II  that I paid $399.00 for and I believe I gave another $100 difference. Then I  had all kinds of trouble with the da*** thing and I had to send it back three times to T/C. That was agravating, then I lost all confidence in the thing so I ended up selling the barrel that I had for it which in turn ended up being a good barrel. The barrel I bought was from bullberry cost over $400 so to say the least I have too much in this gun. So I think I will hang on to. If I was to sell it I would never get no where near what I have in it back out of it.

I could have bought a Browning BAR for $50 more than I paid for my Encore.Still, I chose the Encore for it's reputation of accuracy.
It bothers me that I had to return my new rifle for warranty after only firing 40 rounds through it.
The lock-up in the frame was loose and the barrel moved from side to side :?

I took up Encores last year and wanted a custom gun so I splurged.  I bought stainless receiver for $235 and had Mike Belm do a premium trigger job for $80.  Ordered a Virgin Valley stainless barrel and fiberglass stock/forend for $800 and topped it with Leupold dual dovetail mounts and rings and a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x scope for $900.  Worth every penny UNLESS my wife finds out.

I got my Encore 209/45 Cal Blued with Walnut stock & Forearm for $525.00 and I got my Encore 209/50 Cal Blued with Black stock & forearm for $485.00. I switched the 45 and 50 cal barrels so we each got the set up we wanted , my son wanted an all black Encore in his 45 Cal. I much preferred the Walnut stock.

Who did you order it through? I am always looking for a new connection. I hope you weren't a customer of the Gun Gallery.

There are a lot of options with the Encore, barrels, stock, finish, etc. There should be more than a $100 difference between the lowest and highest cost, depending on which configuration is selected.
