Good Deal?

Went to A gun shop Saturday looking for more 22lr shells. Wandered around a bit and what appears before my eyes? Yes it IS an H&R (NEF) single shot. I thought it was a 22 at first glance but the "port" is too small. Wow this is a 17HMR, I wonder what the price is as and it turns out to be $150. Tag says used but unfired. Well it now is leaning against the wall next to my chair as I "hunt up" a scope for it. Did I do good or get burned here? I love my Buffalo Classic with it's sleek lines. This Sportster however looks all business! 8)

If you see guys in suits and dark glasses approaching, they are FBI agents looking for you !  I'd call that a stealing.  ;)

If you love your BC, get some CR Carbine wood for the 17 and you will love the look and handling too.

I also like the BC wood.  The short forend seems better on the 22" barrels.  I have slowly traded for several sets.  They feel right to me, so I do it.  I also like the Handigrip so I'm doing a couple of them.  My different stocks need different scopes or repositioning, so it's not just bolting them on and go.  Gotta be a balanced package for me to be comfortable. 

Oh, $150 is a good deal on any Handi rifle I think.  Hope it shoots wonderful...

I'm sorry, I just have to beat that deal. My son gave me his used Garmen Nuvi GPS unit some time ago and I really never did anything with it. My neighbor, who is a gun nut like me, told me he needed to buy one for his hunting ATV. Well, guess what? He had a very nice NEF 20" barrel Handi 223 SB2 that he didn't need anymore. Got her cleaned up and put on a BSA 3x9 and ready to go to the range to sight it in. My first Handi 223 will not be lonely now:)
