Reaming an ultra slugger

Can i ream out an ultra slugger to 3 1/2" safely?

Should be fine as the USH barrel is a 12 ga bore in a 10 ga barrel blank and the 10 ga chamber is 3.5"   There is a commercially available sabot in 12 ga 3.5" but the brand name escapes me, but you probably already knew that based on your question.  Good luck with your project.

Reaming to 3 1/2 is like riding a Harley, you can get killed just as dead on a moped,but the Harley sounds better ;D

What is an average price for one of these? Specifically the deluxe( laminated stock WITHOUT thumbhole). I'm guessing $280-$300?

Look up Mr. Ed Hubel (Hubel458) on some of the other forums.  He's done this to a 12ga USH and is getting almost 6,000 lbf energy from his loads out of the 24" rifled barrel!

I looked him up a while back. Some of his brass loads are 10,000 ft/lbs of energy.

Not due to firearm malfunction, certainly.  But I would imagine the recoil would wake you up!  Mr. Hubel has some of his long guns weighted upwards of 17 pounds to help tame the pounding.

Yeah, its a figure of speech, but detached retinas, dislocated shoulders, whiplash neck injury, etc. are real, and can last the rest of your life. Cracked stock wrists and pounded underlugs are cheap compared. Just sayin' dont enter into this lightly.

I have a 12ga USH that if using standard 3" slugs won't take it down I am going to call in the close air support from the Marines  ;D

I punched in the Dixie DGS load on a thornily relative stopping power scale and it scored a 465 and for elephant he recommends a 250. So with solid bullets, no elephant is safe from my .73 cal rifle.  Mr. Huble's loads probably could take out 60 or 70 elephant in one shot :)
