There have been many altercations during recent years between cops and citizens, when the citizens took video with their now common cell phones and similar cameras. The cops don't like it. Well, too bad. The cameras aren't going away. They are in fact used to cherry pick things out of context. But they are also a way of protecting citizens against police misconduct. Some places have tried making it illegal to take video in police situations. That argument isn't working.
This is a real phenomenon that cops and society are going to have to learn to deal with.
