Hi guys, looking to get back into shotshell reloading as bought a 28 gauge this past year which you are already aware of cost to purchase shells for. Long time ago did some 12 guage reloading with a MEC reloader believe it was. Could you suggest any/some really nice reloaders on the market. Not wealthy by any means, but cost is not that much of an issue in this purchase as want a good quality loader that will last a lifetime and endure lots of use. thanks.

Boy have I got a deal for you.

I have an older single stage Pacific DL-155 in 28 gauge that I traded for some years ago with the idea that I would end up with a 28 gauge gun. Well I guess that has kept me from rolling into one.

The press looks like new and uses the Hornady bushings and powder/shot cylinders. So if you are interested in this press and a bunch of cases and wads, send me an e-mail at krupinski@aaahawk.com .

I would be open to trades for one of the many things I am into, but would want to dispose of all of the 28 gauge stuff.

If you are going to shoot a bunch, you may want to look into a progressive press. MEC still makes a fine machine. There is the 650 model, the Grabber model (9000), and the top of the line is their hydraulic powered model (9000H). You'll ocassionally see them on eBay in 28 ga, but not too often.

If you want the simplicity of a single stage, I have a MEC 600 Jr Mk V in 20 ga, and I can get the dies to convert it to 28 ga.

I've got the MEC 9000G progressive and it really turns them out for me. I've got this model in both 20 and 28 gauges. For 12 gauge shells I am running a Hornady 366 which makes a very nice shotshell, but is finicky as to the hulls you use. Hornady used to be Pacific reloaders.
