TC Hot Shot Capsules
« on: January 31, 2004, 01:11:17 PM »
I have an ordinary 10" barrel in .44 Mag., and have got a couple of boxes with TC`s Hot Shot Capsules in .44.  Can I shoot the capsules in my barrel?

I had a TC 44 Hotshot barrel, it came with a choke to stop the spin of the capsule and supposedly improve the pattern.  I believe the throat was longer to accomodate the capsules also.  Do the Hot Shots chamber in your barrel?

You may want to consult the TC factory on this before you try them.

Speer makes fillable shot cups for 44 magnum and your Hot Shot capsules are collectable so I wouldn't shoot them. That said, you should be wasting your time to shoot shot in your 44 mag without a choke. The shot will spray out as soon as it leaves the muzzle and you won't hit anything.

As long as they chamber OK you can fire them. I have a std 10" barrel and have shot a few TC Hotshot rounds from it with no problems. Seemed like a pretty low power load though.   KN
