Obama goes , so what do we get ?
« on: May 17, 2012, 02:16:39 AM »
OK what will we get if Obama does not win ? Will it be a fix all time or just a step in the right (pun) direction ? Will leaders respect voters and give them what they want or will it be business as always ? Will we see voters stick to the task of righting (that word ) govt. or will they go back to not paying attention ? Will Glen and Rush vs Jackson and Sharpton fade away ? What will  the political landscape become ?
WHAT WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE ?
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

At this point I'm more concerned with what will happen if Obama wins a second term than what will happen if he doesn't.

I think you will see Obamacare dismantled, but in its place some republican ideas to help with insurance costs and allowances for more to participate without a big government program.

I think you will finally see a budget presented each year.  Some of Paul Rands ideas, but not all.  Compromising on some issues with democrats to get something done.  Less gridlock.

More attention given to vets.

Less government regulations, toning down the EPA.

More oil drilling and coal mining, thus more jobs and lower gasoline prices.

More people going back to work.

Will it be ideal?, no, but will it get better?, yes.  No pushing the liberal socialist agenda over the will of the people.

No appologising to foreign nations for what ever we did as a superpower.

Cutting back on the education departments overbearing the state and local school systems.  Allowing more local autonomy in schools.

At least moderate or conservative supreme court justices, not far left leaning ones.

More family values, less weird stuff.  No pushing gay agendas.  No forcing religious insurance, hospitals, and institutions to perform abortions or give out birth control against their convictions.  There are plenty of other areas this can be done.

Hopefully changes in banking, finance, and corporation operations, revamping the banking rules and sec regulations to keep the evils of capitalism reigned in, yet allow the growth and strengths of capitalism to flourish.  It has been proven over time the best way to advance standards of living and wealth creation.  It can get out of hand with cronyism and greed.  Rules are only for operating fairly, not overbearing socialism.

We will get a better president. A perfect one.............no, not hardly. I don't think one has existed, even my main man Ron Reagan had his faults. He was the best I'll ever see in my lifetime though. What I do know is that this country may not survive another four years of the abomination that is in there now.

If Romney wins we'll get three things: (1) more tax cuts for billionaires; (2) less business regulation, especially financial; and (3) Great Depression #2, which Bush et al almost gave us.  Oh! And an assualt weapon ban.
I suggest (a) moving out of urban areas; and (b) planting a large garden and learning to raise goats, etc.

Junior, those points are exactly what you will get if Obama gets re-elected. Except to a much greater degree. Obama is controlled more by socialist idea's, and the restraining of business. I could care less about tax cuts for anybody. It's the govt. spending that's the problem. That is the main problem that is taking place in our country, bar none!! You can't hitch a broken car to a tow truck that's run out of gas, and expect anything other than a standstill. Now that R.Paul dropped out, Romney is the only candidate in the running. I don't like his flip flopping, so the best thing to hold him in check, is to vote in as conservative congress as we can. Maybe, maybe, Romney will be more of a president than a dictator that rules by executive order, like Obama. gypsyman

The only difference I see in the two is the color of their skin. I don't see any improvements being made with Romney just a continuation of the slow but steady march toward dismantling of the US and establishment of a one world government.

Wars won't end, drugs will still flow just as steadily as will the illegal invaders. The Constitution will still be used like TP by the folks in DC.

Junior, it doesn't matter who wins, we will have your depression or worse.  If they  took all the income of all people who pay taxes for next year, it will not fund the government for that year.  If they took all the billionaires, millionaires, and hundred thousandaires total assets, we cannot pay this debt and keep our committments to social security and the like.  The folks in Greece are about to find out...we're not far behind.

What I am hoping to get, is confidence in our country again. Investors have that fear that the leadership is incompetent. Business is poised to do something, they only need confidence they will not have the rug pulled out from under their feet.

This President runs his mouth with the intent to do harm to the country. On the rare occasion he does accomplish something, it tends to reverse a positive situation.

Barrack promised fundamental change. In all honesty he has delivered as much as he could. The U.S. has gone from a country of unquestioned power and leadership towards a country of mediocrity.

Academia has been in charge for a while now they have enlightened us with their brilliance. They have showed us what can be accomplished with nothing but the power of thought. If you have subscribed and think things are now better, they are ;) and if you think things are worse now, they are  ;) . Enough thought has been given to the problems at hand it is now time to act.

I pray that grown-ups will be elected throughout the country.

If those who plan on voting 3rd party and those who refuse to vote would come together with the rest of us who will be fighting your battle for you, we could unseat hussein and send Romney to washington with a powerful mandate.  stupid democrats gave hussein a mandate but he ignored it because they wouldn't hold his feet to the fire.
we could win this thing if we worked together.  and please stop callings names.  I don't know of a single person at this site that voted for him.  it's the people "out there" that has nominated him.
but we need to unite to get rid of hussein.
If we keep a majority in the house, we'll be able to do great things with Romney.
so please, please, please, let's work together to get this country headed back in the direction it should go.

97% of Obama's appointees to all the vacant positions that he is responsible for have been from liberal acedemia.  Bill Clintons was 50% from business, so were most other presidents.  These liberal elitists do not know how to run the country or have socialist ideas.  They are not working.  It has slowed our free market economy to a crawl, like most of Europe.  Only Germany is above the others and they are the most capitalist.  These liberal elitists will not be satisfied until we all live in an 800 sq ft, solar powered home, and drive an electric car barely big enough to get in or use public transportation.

Romney's first major national add comes out today.  Laura Ingram played it on the radio today.  First thing he said he would do is approve the Keystone pipeline, then get rid of Obamacare, and give tax breaks to those who would hire new employees.  Sounds reasonable.

Expect in the unlikely event of an Obama loss more "corporations are people too" policies that landed us in this mess in the first place, absolutely nothing done to Romney care. More tax dollar hand outs to failing buisness models with not so strong admonitions to "don't do that again" and a good old all American aussalt weapons ban backed by plenty of anti 2a appointments to various benches

One previous poster mentioned sending Romney to Washington with a clear mandate. That my friends would be the worst possible outcome.

He's a politician, he came from a liberal state.  He had to give them what they wanted.  Obama forces his will on the people even when the political wind is against him.  Clinton did not, he went with the wind.  Romney was elected to get the financial house in order.  Seems like this is what he would be elected to do nationally.  All other issues are side issues.  If we don't get Americas financial house in order, there will be no America.  At least if we get the economy back on track, we can deal with other issues.  There are only two ways to stop excessive federal spending.  One is to have drastic cuts, the other is to get the economy growing.  Tax rates, more tax, or less tax really doesn't matter, because if you taxed everyone heavily, and every penny of every millionare and billionare, it would only be a drop in the bucket.  Obama is blowing smoke about taxing the rich, not enough money for the feds there.  So that only leaves a growing economy which would increase the tax base, and drastically cutting the budget.  Romney does understand this I think.  He has ran businesses and was a governor.  Most good presidents in our past history have been either governors or generals.  They know how to lead and manage.  Even Clinton wasn't too bad.  Carter was a micro manager.  He read every word of every bill before he signed it.  Might work as a governor, but not as president.

Most voters want what's good for them only.  Almost none are interested in or even have any idea what is good for my country.

If 9-11 never happened, Bush was on par to pay off the national debt by 2010.  9-11 changed all that.  The tax cuts did cause the economy to boom, however the wars caused the national debt to go up.

Yep, someone wants a one world government.  40-45% of all China's exports come to the US.  Last I heard imports from China were only 10% of our imports.  Most of ours are from Canada, Japan, and Mexico.  50% of our imports is oil, which could be eliminated in 5-10 years using diesel, natural gas, and drilling our own.  Someone wants us so interdependent that nationalism takes a back seat.  I think it is a socialist idea to eliminate wars and make us so interdependent we can't afford to fight anymore.  Not have superpowers.  Socialists do not take into consideration the human condition.  Man is a sinner and it is wired in him to only want what is good for himself, his family, his country.  Each man is also and independent person with independent personalities.  Some lazy, some workaholics, some with low IQ's, some with high.  That is why every state that has tried socialism, has failed, or has a constant unemployment problem, with very slow increases in standards of living.

What is good for America is good for everyone.

9-11 didn't "cause" two wars, 9-11 was Bush's excuse for two wars. Bush was thrilled by the prospect of becoming "a wartime president" that was his greatest ambition and he lied to the public and to congress and pressured the CIA to come up with justification where none existed.
I'm as sick as anyone of hearing Obama "blame Bush" but I'm just as sick of hearing people trying to "excuse Bush". Bush Jr. was without doubt the worst president we have ever had prior to Obama. I couldn't stomach Clinton but Bush actually made Clinton look good.
Of the two choices, Obama or Romney, I don't see any difference, just as I don't see any difference between Republicans vs. Democrats in general. Our whole political system is rotten and the rot stems from too long accepting the "lesser of evils" as the only choice. Both parties learned long ago that they don't have to field a "good candidate", but only one who can pretend to be "not as bad" as the opponent, so it degrades to the lowest common denominator and here we are again.
KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE AND YOU'LL KEEP ON GETTING WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT.
Oh, and by the way, no president since Thomas Jefferson has ever proposed "paying off the national debt".
Clinton had a balanced budget but it didn't include debt repayment and neither did Bush's budget.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.
