Not necessariily so, the nice thing about 45-70 FL dies is by backing them out of the press you can size the case nects down to where they only put .002/.003" tension on the bullet. The measurement should be down inside where the base of the bullet will be seated. The case mouths will be smaller because of the taper but not much. At any rate you will be working the brass a lot less than the .45LC sizer is. Many reloaders of 45-70s use this method of "partial sizing". It works well.
