Did you guys hear me whooping and hollering for joy yesterday about 1030 CDST?  Found a "used" CR45LC at one of the local toy stores. Still had the factory grease in the pivot area and when I paid my money to put it on layaway they put it back in all the factory wrapping and in the box with all the factory accessories.   It's really purty and I'm going to enjoy putting those character marks on it that favorite guns seem to get cause they seem to get to go out all the time.  Pick up date is a week today.

Yep, congrats.  That barrel has fast become my favorite rifle of all I own.  It's accurate and potent for 125 yards anyway.  ;)  I shoot 300 gr. XTP Magnums for a nice punch.  200 gr. RNFP Leads w/ unique powder are my target or plinking load.   I've shot a goodly amount of std. 250 gr. XTP's and they are pretty accurate too.  Hope you like yours.  ;)

Thanks.  I shoot a Ruger Blackhawk and a Winny 94AE Trapper in .45 Colt but I think this Handi will become the primary go to rifle when hunting feral hogs and working the hunting lease....  I'm sure it will get it's turn during deer season as well but I tend to favor something that will be effective more than 100ish yards.

I'm already set up to load for the .45 Colt and load 240 Mag, 250, and 300 XTPs and am set to start loading some heavy cast gas check rounds that will be appropriate for those wild piggies that show up off and on at the lease.

I think for now I'll use the iron sights and if something better is required, I'll try a Skinner sight before mounting an optic.  If an optic is required I'll probably go with a small red dot like the Burris Fast Fire.

Yukondog, don't see letting this one go.

Hold on to it, for they are prized now.I have some in lever action and really enjoy them, the one I had shot the xtp 250 gr. the best.

YUP, Its a favorite and EXCELLENT GRAB!!

I am lucky enough to have two!  The first I reamed to 454 and the second left it 45 Colt. But NEITHER has the Walnut stocks. For me both are hunting guns. The 454 wears a set of factory camo syn stocks, a Ultra base and a Leupold VX II 2x4 in lo Leuold PRW rings. The 45 Colt is in blk syn stocks another ultra base, another set of PRW Leupold rings and a 4X scope.

Both shoot great! The 454 has harvested me a couple deer and a Coyote. The 45Colt hasn't been "out" yet.

Got the CR out of lay-a-way a week ago today, took the CR to the range today ;D .  BLUF: it sure shoots nice with 240, 250 and 300 gr XTPs considering I was shooting with factory open sights.  Due to time constraint and needing to get a couple of other rifles on paper I only shot at 25 yd.  Will give it a try at 50 and 100 yd next weekend and then will have to get to the reloading bench again.   Will also load some cast w/gas checks and see how bad it wants to lead  up. 

This thing has got me thinking I need to find me a Buffalo Classic that my 22" .45/70 barrel will fit and set my .45/70 up like the CR.

Plan on putting BC wood on my .30-30 as well.
