Wolf downtown Engadine
« on: May 20, 2012, 05:21:34 AM »
Last Tuesday evening at about 8 pm, in daylight, Don Butkovitch saw a wolf cross between his house and his neighbor's, Eugene Salter.  The wolf was headed west crossing M-117 to the Mill Pond Park, the Township Hall and the fire department.  The houses are about 200 feet apart.  D&D Mobil Mart has a dumpster close by and people were speculating as to whether or not the wolf was dump picking.  This is the wake of one being shot west of town a couple of weeks ago.

May have been dumpster picking - or maybe just dog and cat picking.

Blackbear decided to take a stroll into Beaverton down here too.  Is making home and the city is trying to get a bow hunter to come kill it or so I've heard.  hehe

They are around Iron Mountain/Kingsford and have been seen in the middle of town also.  But I would imagine that according to our DNR that would be impossible.

We just have to get some guys to set up to hunt them in inclosures so the drn can step in and kill them all off! Or maybe convince them they could make some money of permits to kill them!

I just drove through Engadine on Monday and again on Weds.  I didn't see any wolves so I doubt the DNR will believe there are any in that area of the U.P  Course maybe they were hiding in the dumpster... ::)    :o   But I did see 2 just west of Manistique.
