Gardeners?

ok ,,,,So we all know its gonna be hotter than 7 Hells pretty soon,,,,, So who took advantage of the warm weather we had here early this year? I picked 2 5 gallon buckets of squash this afternoon and put 14 bags in the freezer. Gave one 5 gallon bucket to my brother and mom and a wally world bag full to my neighbor down the road. Corn is about ready to lay by, tomatoes green on the vine,,,,,, so hows the garden going ,,,,,well most of us plant a GARDEN i'm sure,,,,cept maybe Atlanta lawyers and such.  8)  Come on in boys the waters fine!

Now that's just plain mean!   :(  I'd plant a garden if I could...  :'(  But covenants say I can't... very little full sun in my yard anyway...  :-\
 
I have been thinkin a sneakin in a few 5 gal. buckets though!  Only enough for one tomato, one pepper and one summer squash plant.   ;D
 
Shoot!  find a little sunny spot and water 'em with a "Miracle Grow" mixture and I may supprise my own self!  8)
 
Which reminds me...  :-\  Gotta get ready to put in some food plots at the farm...

Yep, got the backyard garden in Early and it is doing fine. Them squshes is comin in now and I have to pick them twice a day. Usually have a BIG garden in the country but decided not to feed the deer this year.

Squash are winding down, I've given away about as many as I've put in the freezer. We eat em about every other day. Corn looks like it jumped a foot overnight since the rains. Tomatoes are overloaded, Okra is lookin good,and I hope the deer dont eat all my peas. Bathroom is remodeled for the most part,little trim work left to do. Summer is about to arrive, be to dang hot for much else. Gotta put the ac in the reloading shed, so I can stock up for the uprising,,,,,, lol.

We have a local farmer's mkt. here in LaGrange, and truthfully, I can buy it cheaper than I can grow it.  It lasts from 8:00 am to noon.  Go by about 11:30 and get some deals.  Enough green beans to feed an army for $3.00.  Dozen ears of corn, $2.00, etc.
And I don't have to wield a hoe....

True Ben, same here.  And even though you have the drudgery of putting all that stuff up just like it were grown and picked by you own self, it just ain't the same.  So I just buy what I need at da stow.   ;)
 
'cept for Bell Peppers!  Have you seen what they want for those things!?   :o   And the red or yellow ones are even more!!!   ::)

Somebodies    losing    money    at   those   prices   .   Triple   13   fertilizer   is    16  dollars   a   bag   plus   your   labor   &  fuel.

Persactly....thats why I hung up my hoe.  They don't want to haul it home I guess.
