Just got the stocks back for the 45LC/454 that I assembled from the classifieds over the Winter and then worked up a Mannlicher style from Gunstocks. Fellow by the name of Doug Carpenter, Carpenter's Custom Gunstocks in Ohio, did the checkering, carving in the grip cap using one of Caatshooter's H&R medallions, and installed the recoil pad. I'm pretty happy at the way it worked out:

That is a beautiful rifle and beautiful work.
 
Now I am inspired even more! Let's see 7x57 or whelen or 30-06 in that full stock look would be awsome...
 
I just hope the ole wallet and the wife can tolerate it!  ;D

My next project is to convert a late night booze fueled Gunbroker bid-turned-win to a full length Mannlicher stock.

Here's my "mail order bride" as my FFL called her:



a 1907 Model 94 Swedish Mauser in 6.5x55, imported by Interarms in the Fifties and "sporterized" with a Bishop stock and trigger job.

Here's the stock she will eventually wear:





And elkslayer - that's some nice work in those stocks of yours! ;D
