Glock Project Question

I don't own a Glock.  I am thinking of "creating" one in 10mm.  I live in MASS and cannot purchase one in 10mm (the 20), so...I can buy a Lone Wolf longslide complete upper and mags and have what I want.  I will also get a Meck-Teck 10mm CCU upper.  All of this is doable, except.....
As I have learned, standard framed GLOCKS come in 2 sizes, 9mm/40sw/357s and the longer 10mm/45acp.  I'll need the longer frame size so I'll buy a 45acp model 21. 
Question...I have no use for the 45acp slide/barrel upper or the mags...is there an aftermarket for them and what could I get for them to help offset the cost??

I would ask about 75% of what new cost it the parts are new.

Defineately yes!  Many folks look for skied assemblies. Heck I may be interested!

I have the G20 and for what I want it for its very fast becoming my favorite!! Shoots very well. It's recoil is much less than same ammo in my Deltas. I would also consider the MagTec upper of the carbine for mine! A 16" barreled shooting 200g bullets at 1600+fps.... Yup I could do that!

I thought long and hard deciding between a super 45 in a G21 opposed to the G20 10MM.  I already had dies brass and ammo as well as two other guns chambered in the 10mm. So I went G20. So far I am very glad I did.

Truthfully aside from the larger bullet in The 45. They are pretty well balanced. I mean bullets stop at 230 in jacketed and 250 in lead for the 45 in a reliable profile at least. I have had spotty luck with the 250 XTP. Speer used to make a 260 HP that I liked allot!!  I used to load that one in my 45 AR for bowling pins outta my S&W 25!

The 10 makes it to 220 in lead and 200 in jacketed.

Hi Guys!  Thanks CW for reminding me....the project is on a temporary hold for a bit....not forever...I was working on buying a Chapuis double rifle from a member here...it was/is a great opportunity and I've always wanted one...but...my tax refunds were half of what they usually are and daughter #2 is going back to College to learn Ultrasonography (seems Dad needs to come with 1st semester funds) .....sooo......10mm project...hold.  I'm also investing my extra pennies in components when they become available and have a Stag M7H in 6.8 on perpetual order as well as a RR upper in 458SOCOM (this cash needs to be available and is when they are). 

I do have a 300 pieces of once fired 10mm brass and hundreds of bullets...I can still get the gun in 45acp to covert as we cannot buy 10mm guns in the peoples republic of Massachusetts.  It will happen this year though!!!

Well in leu of Dougs project. I have bought a few things for my own G20 Hunting pistol.

I have a KKM 6'' barrel 5.5''and a Lone Wolf  ported barrel. BOTH shot very well and the porting in the LW seems to work well with top loadings.



I am loading with Blue Dot and Longshot powders. I cast some bullets with a 200g TC Lyman mold and bought some 200g WFNGC bullets from Double Tap. Then I am also using Win 175g Silver tips and Hornady XTP 200 HP bullets.




Chronographed I have acheived over 1200 fps with both after market barrels with these powders with no pressure signes. Both of these barrels offer more support so NO smiles are present. I have hit 1300 + with the 175g from the 5.5 LW barrel.

I am staying with the std slide form the stock G20. I like the look. For leather, I have yet to receive either of what I have ordered. BUT both come with recomendations.

Accuracy is TOP notch with 2"50 yard groups with all tested loadings.



I even took a 140# 3PT back in November with it!
