Winchester model 71 in 348 Win???
« on: May 24, 2012, 04:28:58 AM »

I have a Winchester model 71 in 348 Win and was wondering how everyone fells about having it re-chambered to 348 AI?  It’s a deluxe model that needs a new stock and while it’s out I was toying with the idea of re-cambering to the Ackley improved version.  Any thoughts?

My only qestion would be, 'why'.?? The rifle will lose any collector value but that would just be me. If I were doing something along this vein it would likely involve conversion to 450 Alaskan or 50 Express.. It is of course feaseable though would gain only a minimal amount of extra power and with bullets of limited availability. If you're going the wildcat route maximize the gain.
