Summer foodplots
« on: February 01, 2004, 11:29:12 PM »
:D Hello all.  I live in south central Mississippi where it is very hot and humid during the summer months.  I was wondering what would grow good in this type of environment that would attract deer and be very nourishing at the same time.  I am trying to increase antler size through well balanced winter and summer food plots. :D

Check with your local county extension agent who can best advise you as to crops to plant and what fertilizer program to use, here in central Ar. I plant corn, beans, and peas mostly I have tried the vary costly game only products sold in the hunting stors but have found acre for acre and dollar for dollar the normal peas, beans and corn do well here, remember to fortilize the huneysuckle and that type of plant as well the deer love them, good luck :D    JIM
