.357 bullet load in a 35 remington???

I have a Marlin 35 remington and plan on reloading this year and would like to know what your favorite deer loads are and pet loads. Also any info about using 357 bullets/38 special bullets for plinking and varminting.
I'm interested in the versitility of loading different ammo. Thanks and Happy  New Year!!!

I have used a 125gr 38 cal bullet in my 35 rem contender and it works great. Accuracy was edged out a little using 200gr 35 cal bullets but not by much. I used this at my indoor range where the velocity has to stay under 2000fps. Seems like I was pushing it around 1900. I have also used 180gr Sierra JFP 38 cal and it works wonderfully. KN

I've used the Hornady 158gr XTP in my Marlin in .35 Rem..  I'm sorry to say I wasn't really thrilled. (Accuracy or velocity, RL-7 or H4198 might give better velocity/results)  
I believe you will be better off to just order some 200 Rem. Cor-lokts and load them over either Hod. BL-C2, H335, or Win748.  Accuracy is good and performance is Tailor Perfect for this cartridge.  I use 41.0 BL-C2, or 40.0 H4895 with this bullet for 2,250fps.  Usually drops deer DRT (dead right there), with solid hit.  Marginal hits give good blood trail to follow, usually short too!
I also like 180gr Speer FN.  Probably the best bullet available for .35Rem.
43.0 of H335 gives me 2,500fps/2,500ft.lbs., 2" 3-shots @ 100yds and a 220yd point-blank range with 3" high site-in @100yds.
I'm lucky with my rifle in that w/180gr site-in, the 200gr loads hit POI/POI @ 100yds.  The 158's hit about a foot lower and required resighting rifle.

P.S.   I have had good fun with some light cast bullet loads.  The Lee 158RF over 5.0gr of ClaysUniv. fed and functions good, accuracy is "minute of beer" can to 75yds.  The Lee 158GCHP over 10.0gr of ClaysUniv. gave 1,550fps and 2" accuracy @ 50yds.   Over this, the accuracy fell off due to the Micro-groove rifling.  I'm considering a 180-200gc FN mould either the RCBS Shiloutte or Saeco .358 200 GCFN.

One aspect to the above accuracy limit is the fact that the 35 bullet diameter is .358, so a .357 bullet is undersized, if jacketed will not fill the grooves.
