As a side note I am waiting for my DSG points to be cashed in and will be ordering my 22 lr sportster after Fathers Day.  :P

The wife was not mad, just a "Hey, what's this charge for from a sporting goods store in Wisconsin", type thing. She is actually is pretty cool about my hobby and its expenses, but I don't show her all of the expenses. ;D

FWIW -There is another 17 mach2 that just got listed on GB that may go for a reasonable price for those who are still looking.  It is Item# 289667884. I am not affiliated nor know the seller. Just saw it out there.

I will probably top this one with the Sweet 17 BSA scope. I kinda like the one on my .17 HMR. Anyone else got a good scope suggestion for this cartridge?

BSA made a .17M2 scope a few years ago, but they are out of production.  I missed one on evilbay last year by 15 minutes.

I ended up putting a Simmons 4x32 8-point on it. I am consistently getting 3 shot 1/4 to 1/3 inch groups at 50 yards with both Hornady and Eley ammo. I am really liking this little rifle. It now wears the furniture that was on my 17 .hmr so it looks really nice too!  :D

I like these "cheapo" scopes for rimfires too. They generally work fine. My own M2 had one on it for a couple weeks. Once I realized I had a real shooter and something I would be shooting allot. It got a VXII 3x9 AO scope! I wanted a 4x12 but $$ only allowed the 3x9. It's a great shooter! I'm
Sure you have herd me say it's the best shooter I own, bar none!

Keep your eyes open for a good scope
and when the things click grab a better scope for it!

I'm looking seriously at a Nikon Prostaff RF w/BDC scope for this rifle. Will not be on the same level as a leupold, but the scope will definitely cost more the rifle!  ::)

Have you concidered a Mueller Sport Dot. I like the Mueller scopes, and are'nt they still a site sponser? Have the 8.5-25 x 50 mm AO on my .204 Ruger Howa Varmiteer thumbhole, a tack driving combo!

Another often overlooked scope is the Redfield line, recently purched by Leupold and now manufactured next door to the main Leupold facility, here in Oregon. Will be my next scope purchase. Just a thought.  :)

The Redfield Revolution is made in Oregon, the newer Redfield Revenge is made off shore as are their range finders.
