Just got an email from my prairie dog guide in SD, said the plague is running rampant this year, wiping out towns in the badlands area. Anybody else hear anything? Dunno where I can go now, I imagine most everywhere else is already booked up.

What you might want to think about is calling a game warden in areas where you're thinking of shooting, as they know their area and often will give you names of ranchers who will let you shoot on their property.
SW North Dakota (Slope County) has a few dog towns and most ranchers in the area will let you shoot and will tell you where other dog towns are located as well.
The only problem with a lot of areas is cafes and lodging or camping facilities.
