Sunny days, no wind, good groups!
« on: June 06, 2012, 07:07:00 PM »
I mounted my Leupold 2.5x8 LER on my Contender Super 14 Rem. 223 bull barrel the other day. I took it out yesterday and without much effort I did sub 1" groups @ 100 yards with some 55gr PMC ammo. If I had been a little more focused I think I could have snugged it up a bit but it will do for now. My main mission to day was the 100 yd 2" groups from my 28" 20ga. barrel and loads with a newly mounted scope. I used Rem 2 3/4 copper solids and Hornaday 2 3/4 SST's both had similar POI also. I really need to do a trigger job on it, shootin' the Conterder in the same session really lets ya know how bad the factory trigger is on an Encore. I think with a trigger job and a bit more practice/focus I can get it down to 1" to 1.5"... It was a good day
