One of the "OLD ONES" on this forum, namely RdFx, is repeatedly found to type "patience" in his advice line. I too adhere to this philosophy. The two pics below atest to the virtues of a patient man (maybe fool

).
This was in fact a true double but since they were dragged I didn't know I had the second one until the first was in the truck (not drinking a coffee :-) ). The traps were set 23 days earlier "on location" at cattle trail junctions coming to water from the north and from the south. Chet lured with a pencil sized stick dipped into Jumpin Jack Flash (a "gun" lure) which I had cycled out of rotation three years ago. I lured with a match stick sized twig dipped 1/2 inch or so into either Nature Call or Wiley Coyote (both are good gland lures and I don't have my note pad in front of me) and a few drops of urine on the side. Both sets were flats and the lure sticks were placed under a cow pie after "smearing" around a bit on the under side of the front lip of the pie. I walked to within twenty yards of my set to check and glassed Chet's. The first snow came and / or the "sugar bush" went sour...buta bing buta boom!

HAVE PATIENCE WILL SKIN!
Not all locations pay every year but good location is a good location for a reason...coyotes come by! Also, a good lure is a good lure for a reason. I did not relure these sets. This maybe a regional thing but it works for me.
Hope this helps some!
PS. Those high Mesas are some of my cat factories heh heh heh!
