Bushnell Scopechief scopes
« on: February 02, 2004, 06:29:26 PM »
I'm thinking about buying a used Bushnell Scopechief scope.  I don't know much about them.  I know they are an older model.  When were they discontinued? Would they be comparable to a Bushnell Banner? Trophy? Legend? Elite?  Do any of you guys use or have used one?  Thanks

"When were they discontinued?"

Approx two years ago.

"Would they be comparable to a Bushnell Banner? Trophy? Legend? Elite?"

They are between the Trophy and Elite 4200 in quality, about were the Elite 3200 is.  Bushnell has the Legend and 3200 filling that gap now.

"Do any of you guys use or have used one?"

I do have one but I have only heard good things about them.

They are pretty much the same as the legend. Optics are almost identicle but the apperance is a little different.

I have a Scopechief...1980 vintage...good scope
I had it on my M77 Ruger until about 6 years ago...
decided to get a Leupold....scope is now on my
nephews .270....still killing deer...he actually likes
better than a Leupold because the crosshairs are
a little courser....this scope tracked well...if I
remember I never had to readjust the zero...
after I freefloated the barrel...I don't believe it
is quite as bright as VX-II...but it wasn't too far
behind...flintlock
