Ammo Shipped USPS

Does the USPS have sniffing machines that would detect ammo?

I know it's against the law, but how do they catch someone if it was shipped? Just curious.

I have received ammo twice via Priority Mail from Gunbroker sellers. I think maybe the infrequent sellers don't realize that it isn't legal. Both times they came right to the door. If I'm mistaken both parties can get in trouble over this.

That's kind of scary for the buyer.
