since the local harley dealer is a hr away and way over priced ive switched to commonly available fluids for my bike over the years and so far havent had any probs.
in the primary i use dextron, it looked and smelled simialr to what i was buying from a local bike shop. ive got about 3 yrs useing it with no probs.but all its doing is keeping the chain lubed and the wet clutch.

ive went to castrol for the engine.im not pushing my bike to extremes by any means and its resonably priced. so far been running it for a couple years.also available a block from my work.i also use a wix filter that is about half the price of any bike shop filter.

for the tranny i just use plain old 80-90 wt.so far i cant tell any difference.
ive never been a big synthetic oil fan. its gotten way over priced. i know it extends your service intervals but i kind of like to service and go over my bike every 3000 mi or so anyway. would love to hear you guys input and experiences.like i said i dont really push my bike that hard in extreme conditions and its a 98 electra glide standard.with a 96" s&s motor.

Oil is oil. I use Amsoil in the engine and primary and Redline Shock-proof in the tranny.
