SPRING BULBS IN SUMMER

Is there any way to get spring bulbs to grow in early summer ?
 
My 9 year old picked up some at Lowe's for a $1 a bag and wants to plant them , I'm just not sure how to force them this late in the season . Someone told me to put them in the fridg. for a few days to trick them into thinking it was spring , Will that work ? Any idead ?

I know you can order flower bulbs from places like Gurneys etc now to plant in the fall for spring sprouting.  I was thinking about ordering some.  Same for garlic and actually strawberry plants.

Most of them need 2-3 months of cold storage so they think they went through the winter. Then they can come up in summer or fall.
