Taurus 444 Ultra light .44mag Shooting High
« on: June 22, 2012, 01:56:01 PM »
I have had zero problems with this gun, groups great at 30yds just shoots about 10" high, rear sight is bottomed out. Been shooting
Hornady 240gr XTP's, I have tried other 240gr (Winchester, Federal) bullets with very similar results.

Is this a common problem and does anyone know of any after market front sights for this gun?

a 240 gr. has to push the muzzle up fairly high, no ?
have you tried lighter bullets like 200 or 225 grs. ?

Make sure your thumbs are locked down firmly one over the other.  Use lighter bullets.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff

Never tried anything less than 240gr. I bought the gun to use for packing into bear country, so anything lighter would be useless for me. I would like to find a taller front sight to make up for the trajectory issue.
